Last night the 2011 Juno Awards took place at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. Drizzy hosted the evening and he did a musical/comedy sketch to open up the show with a very funny ‘Old Money’ sketch later on in the show. Over all the show was boring and there wasn’t enough love for the urban music community. Shad’s TSOL took home the award for hip-hop album of the year and they didn’t even televise it. And even though Canadian hip-hop made a huge impact around the world, Junos didn’t even have Shad or Drake perform on stage. If they really wanted to go out with a bang Kardinal Offishall should have closed the show with ‘The Anthem’, but ofcorse that didn’t happen. The only part of the show that was great to see was Drake hosting and Chromeo bringing some energy to the dull show and if they really wanted the place to liven up they should have had Deadmau5 perform.
