The Weeknd is on a high right now. While House Of Balloons is being playing around the clock everywhere in the world, Toronto’s rising R&B singer The Weeknd releases a new record from his upcoming mixtape Thursday which will be available this summer online.

Last year, Drake had the biggest concert in Toronto, OVO Fest. He had Jay-Z, Eminem, Young Jeezy and many more on stage with him. Because it was so damn epic, Drizzy will be having OVO Fest 2011. The concert will be held at the Molson Amphitheater on July 31 and tickets are going to go on sale June 3 at 11am at all Ticketmaster outlets! Rick Ross and The Weeknd have been confirmed to open so far and expect some major surprises. This will be a sold out event so I highly suggest you get up early and get your tickets next week!

Calgarys own Jenna Andrews opened for En Vogue during the weekend and here is a clip where she performed Aaliyah’s track Hot Like Fire in Foxboro. Really hoping that Jenna comes to Toronto soon!!

Just like that, J. Cole drops a brand new track for all his fans. Cole is also finishing up his debut album Cole World, so look out for the single soon.

Great way to start off your weekend! Toronto’s hometown hero, Drake releases his brand new track ‘Dreams Money Can Buy’ produced by Noah 40 Shebib on OVO. Don’t know if this will be on his sophomore album Take Care, but love it nonetheless!

Celebrating the release of her brand new mixtape Broccoli & Noodles, JoiStaRR drops the video for her track Yellow which you can find on the mixtape.

Hailing from the ‘city of angels’, JoiStaRR releases her highly anticipated mixtape, Broccoli & Noodles. For those that don’t know JoiStaRR has been working with Kanye West for half a decade; and she has worked with the likes of Estelle, Chris Brown, Raphael Saadiq and many more. Hosted by Don Cannon, Broccoli & Noodles features production from Warryn Campbell, Mars, Karriem Riggins, and the late J Dilla. With this mixtape we also get to hear JoiStaRR’s amazing unique R&B vocals. JoiStaRR puts her twist on tracks by Coldplay, Sade, The Penguins and many more as well as original tracks. Today MuchMusic announced the nominees for their 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards! The MMVAs will be taking place on Sunday June 19 on the streets of Queen and Jarvis in Toronto. The awards this year will be co-hosted by Selena Gomez with performances by Bruno Mars, Lady GaGa, The Black Keys and many more.
